NE1 Car show - July 2016

I decided to pop along to the NE1 car show in this weekend. Its a show I have heard about but never been to, so thought as it was local and free it was worth a look.

The show takes up all of Grey Street from the Monument to the junction with Dean St.

There were a good selection of cars from Lamborghini and Ferrari to AC Cobra's and a very loud V10 Audi R8. Also there were Tesla and the new Aston DB11.

There was also few classics there including a nice Bristol and Triumph Stag and classic American muscle cars, plus some classics for rental from Northumbria classic car rentals.

Here are a selection of  the cars at the show.

Coxhoe classic car and bike show.

Great local show with a real variety of cars and bikers on show. Triumph wise there was a nice vitesse, and 3 Spitfire's, my herald and Chris' dolly sprint.

Well worth a visit next year.

Classic Car shows comming up

This weekend sees the NEC Classic car show in Birmingham

More details are available here: http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/

Another show I have come across it the inaugural The London Classic Car Show, 8-11 January 2015, ExCel London

The show is backed by the group that produce Top Gear and are behind the CarFest event that Chris Evans promotes for Children in Need. From their site;

We pay homage to the greatest classic cars, creating a themed avenue running the length of the show. Over 40 influential and desirable classic cars from over nine decades beginning at the turn of the last century will be driven and paraded along The Grand Avenue throughout the show. As the cars line up in their dedicated bays we will be able to see an evolution of the car extended across the avenue with each lying ready to start and drive over each day of the event.”

Tickets start from £13

Herald 13/60 restoration on more 4

There was a good Herald 13/60 saloon restoration on More 4 last night on Car SOS with Fuzz Townsend.

you can watch it on demand for the next few weeks;

http://www.channel4.com/progr.../car-sos/on-demand/60586-004

Tim and Fuzz head to Cornwall to save a poorly 1970 Triumph Herald, a much-cherished motor that has been left standing in a garage for over four years due to its owner's tragic family circumstances.
